TÁNDEM CONCRETO
Tándem Concreto is a collaborative-design partnership between two architects, Silvana Herrera and Armando Rigau.
They merged their architectural training with passion for concrete to create unique and original objects that blur the line between figurative & abstract representations. Each design embodies a distinct narrative that is crafted thru analog & digital tools. In formal and material explorations, they continuously search for novel methods to cast their ideas into concrete.
Their process merges multiple media: from conventional techniques of sketching, drawing, and casting to contemporary design and manufacturing technologies, such as computational modeling, digital simulation, and 3D printing. These tools empower their work to challenge traditional notions of art versus product design. While the objects can be massively produced, each is cast and finished by hand to attain a unique, individual identity.
